The Community Developers/ KEMAS Nursery teachers uses various teaching and learning approaches appropriate to the levels of self-development, needs, abilities, talent and interests as well as background of the children. The aim is to make teaching and learning more meaningful, effective and enjoyable.
The teaching and learning approach is based on the concept and principles of pre-school education, namely :-
Learn through Play
The delightful teaching and learning process increases cognitive abilities, desire to explore to satisfy curiosity, gross and fine motor skills, innovative thinking skills, critical and creative skills as well as assisting to overcome worries and stress.
Learning experiences will provide meaningful effects and acquisition of skills will be developed and assists o maximize the level of development.
Themed
Teaching and learning through a selected theme or topic suitable with the time, place, interests and background of children are used as tools in mastering any given skills such as speaking, reading, writing, basic mathematics and thinking while giving children the opportunity to expand their knowledge through the selected theme.
Integrated
The integrated teaching and learning process helps children grasp the reality of the real world which is interconnected with one another and is not alienated. This will facilitate the children when pursuing or exploring a topic in which there are various choices thus motivating them. This creates satisfaction for learning which in turn makes learning more active, exciting, and meaningful. It in turn increases imagination, creativity, language skills and inculcates good moral values to the children.
Information Technology and Communications
Assists the teaching and learning process, acquire information, interacts with the material for self-learning and with friends as well as enriching the learning experience.
Management of teaching and learning activities are organised by means of classes, groups and individuals carried out in an organised manner.
